Born and raised in Tanzania, Gracious Msuya is an educator and recognized community leader in Minnesota. He has held various leadership roles within the Tanzanian community in the Twin Cities and is actively involved in non-profit organizations working in Minnesota and Tanzania.
Gracious was introduced to Educate Tanzania at a Minnesota-based conference in 2011 and has been connected ever since. Gracious joined the ETI Board of Directors in 2012, became Vice President in 2015, Board Chair in 2016 and Vice President, Advisor-Liaison, Tanzania in 2018.
In 2013 Gracious returned to Tanzania with two of his daughters. He visited the KARUCO campus site and met with Karagwe leaders. He affirmed mutual priorities between ETI and KAD.
Gracious is an educator in the St Michael-Albertville Schools working with individuals with disabilities. He attends Constance Free Church in Andover and Minnesota Swahili Christian Congregation.
Gracious earned a Doctor of Education degree (Administration and Leadership) from St. Cloud State University, Minnesota. He also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from St. Cloud State University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Metropolitan State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Economics from University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Gracious lives with his wife, Florence and family just north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, distance running and spending time with family and friends. ETI is extremely grateful for the input and impact of Gracious Msuya.
