Educate Tanzania is committed to the intentions of the people in Karagwe, Tanzania and its surrounding area.

Since its inception in 2010, Educate Tanzania has partnered with Rev Dr. Benson Bagonza and other leaders in Tanzania to help them realize their dream of bringing Karagwe University College to life. KARUCO opened in Fall, 2018 with its focus on entrepreneurial methods of farming and ag-related business. KARUCO now has several hundred graduates some of whom have begun Ag-related businesses through the Micro-Enterprise Loan (MEL) Program.

Karagwe’s next steps focus on development of Project FURSA - “Opportunity” in Swahili — so graduates have a hub where they can start or grow a business after KARUCO. Our first step is building a Pineapple Juice Processing Plant to create business, increase incomes, ensure fair trade and gender equity, reduce crop waste and improve community health. Construction is underway. Hope is palpable and transformation is in the works.
